Dev & apps

Custom software that fits your process.

For what no standard package does well: web apps and portals, integrations between your systems, AI tools and fast front ends. Built by developers you know by name, with code that is yours once paid.

Apps, integrations and AI tools, tailored. Code and Git repo are yours.

In short

What is custom software, and when do you choose it?

Custom software is built for your process, instead of a standard package you bend your process to. Sharp Creations, a small team in Julianadorp (North Holland, the Netherlands), builds web apps (price on request, after a call), API integrations (from €2,500 excl. VAT), AI tools and front ends. Once paid you get the code and the Git repository, and we host in the EU. Only choose custom when a standard package really pinches; we will tell you honestly when it does not.

Often the best answer is a mix: a standard package for what is standard, with an integration or a small app of your own for the part that sets you apart. See also Zapier, Make or custom.

How we work

How we build custom software.

  1. 01

    Discovery

    Your process, users and systems mapped. What belongs in the first version, and what does not?

  2. 02

    Proposal with a fixed price

    Scope, planning and a fixed price per phase. Extra work only with your approval.

  3. 03

    Build in sprints

    A demo of something working every sprint, so you can steer in time.

  4. 04

    Launch and build on

    Launch, operations and further development on what users really need.

Technology

Our technology, in plain language.

The stack

TypeScript, Next.js and React for the front end; Firebase, Azure or a Postgres database for the back end. Mainstream technology, so another developer can carry on later. Which back end fits: Firebase, Supabase or Azure.

Hosting in the EU

We host in European data centres and take care of backups and logging. If you work with personal data, a data processing agreement is available on request.

Security

Sign-in with roles and permissions, as little access as needed per user and per integration, no passwords or keys in the code, and dependencies we keep up to date.

Ownership

The code lives in Git, with documentation. Once paid, the repository is yours. Build bugs that turn up after delivery, we fix free of charge.

Proof

What we have built.

A public web-app case is not on the site yet; part of our development work is white-label for agencies, and we do not name those clients. What you can see:

  • the online store of Hondenvoeding Texel, fully custom-built on Firebase;
  • this website: Next.js on Firebase, bilingual, with its own CMS and admin that we built ourselves;
  • our advisor tool, a wizard that gives advice and a ballpark price in a few questions.
Price

What drives the price.

An API integration starts at €2,500 excl. VAT. Web apps, platforms and frontend projects are priced on request, after a call: you get a fixed price per phase up front. What determines the price:

  • the number of screens, roles and processes;
  • integrations with other systems;
  • data that needs migrating;
  • AI components, including the model’s usage costs;
  • requirements for security and availability;
  • operations and further development after launch.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know.

Ask your question
What does custom software cost?
An integration starts at €2,500 excl. VAT. A web app is priced on request: after a call about your process you get a fixed price per phase up front.
Do I get the source code of my software?
Yes. Once paid you get the code and the Git repository, with documentation. You are not tied to us.
Who maintains the software after delivery?
We can, with a maintenance agreement whose amount is in the quote up front. Because the code is yours, your own team or another party can also take over.
Can a small team handle custom software?
Yes, as long as the scope fits. We build with two developers and a fixed way of working: sprints with demos, code in Git and documentation. If a project is too big for us, we say so up front.
Do you work white-label for agencies?
Yes. We build under your name and do not approach your clients. You get a fixed price per job within 1 working day.
Where is my application hosted?
In the EU, on Firebase (Google Cloud) or Azure, depending on what fits. A data processing agreement is available on request.
How do I start a custom project?
Describe briefly what you want to build and, if you know it, your budget. We usually reply within one working day, often proposing a short discovery so the fixed price is right.

What do you want to have built?

A few sentences about your process and, if you know it, your budget are enough. You usually hear back within one working day, with a proposal or a few focused questions.

Where we can reach you.
